Digital Media Instructor

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and authoring cutting edge digital media courses using the latest industry standard software.
  • Instructing 2d Graphics, Design & Software; Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop.
  • Instructing 3d Graphics, Design, & Software, Maya, Conceptual Art and Story-boarding.
  • Instructing Traditional Drawing and Visual Communication.
  • Lecturing and assisting students with projects face-to-face, and developing and updating online versions of the course using an online Learning Content Management System.

Accomplishments:

  • Developed 2 new digital media courses for the Video Game Foundation track of the Digital Media Department.
  • Researched and compiled hard-to-find important historical computer animations (shorts and advertisements), to give students visual historical perspective for past technology, and advantages of current hardware and software packages.
  • Trained many students with no previous experience with various computer programs to be quickly proficient.  Many have been hired for professional work, outside of class, before the class is over. I show workflow examples compiled by me from industry experience, giving them confidence, and inspiring them to excel.
  • Guided students to think and work efficiently, developing and communicating ideas properly in Art and Design classes.
  • Improved various courses with student input, over time, to foster more student involvement, creativity, and overall effectiveness.
  • Served the college at Seminole Campus through an increasing yearly enrollment growth rate, totaling 30% total growth over 3 years for all 9 campuses, although growth has been much higher at Seminole Campus.

The Burnett Honors College

Computer Support / Computer Lab Monitor

Responsibilities:

  • Network / setup / break down new stations to replace older ones, troubleshot problems with software and hardware. (PC & Mac)
  • On call to help professors and staff with the SMART classrooms and their components ( computers / projectors / audio visual / document cam ) in the building
  • Help students with all desktop software. Specialization was helping students with the Adobe graphics suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator.

Accomplishments:

  • Observed, discovered and resolved a security-compromising issue with the brand new building’s doors.
  • Supported the growth and transfer of the computer lab and facilities from a lab of 15 computers to a brand new building and over 40 computers.

Multimedia Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Prepared weekly honors multimedia presentations presented to over 600 students.  Assisted distinguished faculty lecturers with on-hand multimedia assistance.

Accomplishments:

  • Mentored and inspired new incoming college freshmen to take in interest in a wide range of new fields.
  • Fostered a perfect record of two complete years without any multimedia mishaps during important presentations.
